The First Law of Cultivation (Qi=MC², Book 1)
First impressions of a science-flavored cultivation read: a chill, well thought out slow burn. 8/10 so far, full breakdown when I finish.
First impressions, still reading. I will add the full spoiler thoughts once I finish the book.
The short version (spoiler-free)
A decent book so far, and I am enjoying it. What stands out is how the science behind the cultivation is put together. Go in seeing it as a cultivation story and not a physics lecture, but the author clearly did not just staple a bunch of science words together to sound clever. There is real thought behind how the magic works, and that gives it a nice hook.
The pacing is a bit of a slow burn where I am at, but it is a comfortable, chill read with some genuinely funny moments. Nothing has annoyed me enough to put it down, which for a slow burn says something.
- Rating: 8/10 (so far, still reading)
- Narration: 8/10, Pavi Proczko (not bad at all, easy to listen to)
- Length: 21h 52m · Series: Qi=MC², Book 1 of 5
- Progression / pacing: slow burn so far, science-flavored cultivation with real thought behind the system
- Read it if: you like cultivation with a logical, almost scientific approach to how power works · Skip it if: you want fast action from the first chapter
Content note: there are some hints of LGBTQ elements in it.
Bottom line so far: a chill, well thought out cultivation read that respects your brain a little more than most. I will update with the full breakdown when I am done.
